Awesome performance weekend!
I performed both on Saturday and Sunday for this weekend
On Saturday, two other Japanese friends and I performed at the international Cultural event at Saint Mary's University. We played three Japanese songs;
涙そうそう
恋のバカンス
見上げてごらん夜空の星を
and I played one instrumental song
There were about 400 people and 13 different performance groups from different countries. We were the 10th performers. We got very nervous because the last performers (St.Lucia) did a fantastic job and the people were just so impressed by them.
Aaaaand our turn. Akina and Tomoko sang just beautifully, so I could really relax and play guitar along with them.
The cheering after our performance was really great. I will never forget that feeling
On Sunday, I performed in a Chinese New Year event at Dalhousie University. This time I played 5 songs in total
We, Chinese language class students, sang 3 well-known Chinese songs, and I played two Kotaro Oshio songs ( I wasn't too sure if he was appropriate for a "Chinese" New Year event because he isn't Chinese.... but my professor really liked the songs and urged me to play, so I did
lol)
The quire went really well, although I made a mistake for the second song and restarted again haha....
After the performance, our Chinese professor treated us some drink at the bar downstairs. Awesome! It was really great to be able to do something like this with classmates. I think it's pretty rare to practice something as a class outside of the actual lecture time. We had one hour practice twice a week, and many students showed up every time
I'll upload videos of the performances soon.
Great weekend!!!!
